About Me:

I made Aliyah on my own in 2018. Aside from some snacks, I had no food to speak of when I arrived at my new home. Luckily, a family friend came to the rescue and dropped off some gluten free food. My two years as a Bat Sherut helped me integrate and navigate Israeli society.

Like many Olim, I ran into my fair share of bureaucratic and technical issues. With my passion for solving problems and research skills I dove right in. I’ve put together a huge amount of information, resources and connections about the bureaucratic process, shopping, and organizing an Israeli home. Every challenge was a new and exciting frontier. It’s been gratifying to help fellow Olim navigate Israeli life. My friends have often joked that I should create a blog of “Meira’s Tips and Tricks” to share my favorite life hacks.

What m’ Bayit l’ Bayit is All About:

It has been a dream of mine to share my knowledge and help current and incoming Olim avoid common issues. Making life in Israel easier one day at a time and making connections that often take years to establish. I to understand that sometimes we need a more hands on approach.

After a difficult move, I furnished my first home. Many of my friends commented that my apartment felt like a home after a short time. I started helping friends and family furnishing and rearranging existing elements of their apartments. Transforming  house to a home.

Over time, the idea of helping others with a smooth transition into Israeli life evolved into something beautiful. I started to understand the importance of a living space feeling like a home. Whether it is our own space or the country we live in, we should feel at home where we live.

There are many stories of Olim arriving in the country and not having beds to sleep in on their first night. To me, this highlights a desperate need for new Olim to have basic needs available to them on their day of Aliyah. There is no reason that someone should arrive in Israel and not have a bed to sleep in or food for their first day.

Through my work at m’ Bayit l’ Bayit, not only am I able to provide important information for many olim, I’m able to take a hands-on approach to provide personalized support for life in Israel.
